The original “Kissed
by Death: Congestive Heart Failure” book started out as nothing more then a research project and grew into a book. Theme
of the book is based on “what do you do when you leave the hospital,” and focuses extensively on the authors own
story and illness. It addresses the technical aspects of CHF; causes, symptoms, diagnosis and medications. It talks about
simple aerobic and resistance weight training exercises to strengthen the body including the heart. It focuses on a low sodium
diet and how to read food and ingredient labels, and building a sodium database. The second half of the book deals with the
Mediterranean diet and profiles the author’s own low-sodium, good-carb, Mediterranean Style Eating and cooking methods
that have been essential to the success of his recovery.
